The Candide Quartet, a group of emerging young professionals committed to making a mark on a centuries-old tradition through their unique personalities, energy, and enthusiasm.
The quartet is especially passionate about sharing the camraderie, connection, and intimacy inherent to string quartet playing. Through community outreach, collaborations with composers, and experimentations with style, these four young players are excited to shepherd the art of chamber music through a rapidly changing modern landscape.
The Green Mountain Chamber Festival in Vermont named the Candide Quartet as the 2026 BarnablString Quartet fellows. The Juilliard-Based Ensemble was selected for the Inaugural Fellowship Honoring the Late David Barnebl. Their appearance at the Abbey is part of their fellowship from the Barnebl award.
